Safe Sitter
Founded in 1980 by an Indianapolis pediatrician, Safe Sitter is a medically accurate program that teaches boys and girls, ages 11-13, how to handle emergencies when caring for young children.
Safe Sitters Learn:
• Pediatric Basic Life Support (including infant/child cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
• Accident prevention
• Basic child care for different age groups
All Safe Sitter classes are taught by specially trained instructors who are interested in teaching teenagers to be
medically responsible, creative and attentive babysitters.
Safe Sitter is a nationally organized program offered at hospitals, schools, service organizations and other
community-minded groups across the country.
