Women & Digestive Health

Many women are uneducated about the health of their digestive system. According to the American Digestive Health Foundation, at least 40 million Americans suffer from chronic digestive diseases. Gastrointestinal distress is more than twice as common in women as it is in men and women are equally affected by colon cancer. In addition, women have a greater incidence of complicating factors such as, fibromyalgia, migraine and heartburn.

The Florida Hospital Digestive Health Center offers a Care Coordinator Program to assist you in scheduling appointments for colorectal screenings, diagnostic procedures, surgery, and puts you in touch with the latest clinical trials and physician experts. This service is available free of charge and is designed to help you through the process of diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
