Join us for a five week series for women in the last trimester of pregnancy and their partners. It includes preparation for labor and delivery, Lamaze breathing and relaxation techniques. All instructors are certified to teach the Lamaze method. Pre-registration is required. The $110 fee also includes the Breastfeeding Class and the Anesthesia Class.

This is a three week series of classes designed for couples who want a shorter class. The first 2 nights cover childbirth information and the 3rd night is Postpartum, Baby Care and Tour. Post Partum & Baby Care Class - Monday, 6:30 – 9:00 pm (2nd floor Medical Library)
Intended for first time and adoptive parents, this two and a half hour class includes the basics of baby care: diapering, feeding, bathing and more. No pre-registration is necessary and the fee is $35, however, there is no charge for those attending any Childbirth 101 Class.

Breastfeeding Class - Tuesday, 6:30 – 9:00 pm (1st floor Medical Library)
This two and a half hour class covers the basics of breastfeeding and is taught by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant No pre-registration is necessary and the fee is $35, however, there is no charge for those attending any Childbirth 101 Class.

Anesthesia for Childbirth Class - Thursday, 6:30 – 7:30 pm (1st floor Medical Library)
Offered once each class series. This class is included in the cost of your childbirth preparation class and is taught by an anesthesiologist. It covers detailed information on epidural anesthesia, including the procedure, the benefits and the side effects. Class length is 1 hour No pre-registration is necessary and the fee is $35, however, there is no charge for those attending any Childbirth 101 Class.

Happiest Baby on the Block Class – Tuesday, 6:30 – 8:30pm (2nd floor Medical Library)
The Happiest Baby program is a national program developed by Harvey Karp, MD a renowned Pediatrician. New parents will learn how to help babies sleep longer and how to soothe a fussy baby. Pre-registration required. Class fee is $55. Includes DVD and Soothing Sounds CD.

Grandparenting Class - Sunday, 2 – 4 pm (1st floor Medical Library)
The emphasis of this class is on uniting the generations as families expand, updating information on care of the newborn and teaching new Grandparents how to assist their children through the early days of parenthood. Includes a tour of The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place. Pregnant mom and coach may attend along with grand-parents-to-be at no cost. Pre-registration required. Class fee is $25 per related grandparenting couple.

Siblings’ Class – Wednesday, 4:00 – 5:15 pm (1st floor Medical Library)
This class is designed for children who are expecting a new brother or sister. A DVD on adjusting to becoming a big brother or sister is shown, followed by a demonstration of holding, feeding, and diapering an infant. The children also tour The Baby Place but not labor and delivery. If possible, each child should bring a doll or teddy to class. Class fee is $20 per family. Grandparents may attend along with parents.

Fido Meets the New Baby - Tuesday, 6:30 – 8:00 pm
Offered only at Florida Hospital Orlando, this class is taught by professional dog trainers, this class addresses safety and other concerns the new and expectant parents may have about pets and new babies. The fee is $35 per couple. Call the Orlando - Parent Education to reserve at 407-303-2599.

Pediatric Life Support Class – Monday, 6:00 – 8:30 pm
Offered only at Florida Hospital Orlando, this class teaches CPR and other safety measures for infants and children to adults. Certification is provided by the American Heart Association. You must pre-register and pre-pay. The fee is $40 per person or $70 per couple. Call the Orlando - Parent Education office at 407-303-2599 to reserve.

After The Baby Is Born
Follow-up Lactation Visit
For new mom and baby with breast feeding issues. Helps resolve Breastfeeding problems and increase confidence. Class is held on Mondays at 2 p.m. at Winter Park Memorial Hospital – 1st floor North Conference Room. The fee is $25.
The Baby Bunch Support Group (1st floor Medical Library)
This Friday class is especially made for the new mom and her baby. This first year of life with a new baby can sometimes be stressful and overwhelming. This class is designed to support and give helpful information to the new moms. A speaker will give a topic each week. Breastfeeding and Bottlefeeding moms are welcome to attend. Lactation consultants are available for those who are breastfeeding. A weigh scale is available for you to check your baby’s weight. This class is for children up to 1 year of age. Fridays, 10:30 a.m. Fee: $8. Lunch will be provided. No meetings held on date prior to major holidays.
