Robert W. Holloway, MD, FACOG, FACS

Co-Medical Director, Florida Hospital Gynecological Oncology

Biographical Sketch

As Co-Medical Director of Florida Hospital Gynecologic Oncology, Dr. Holloway has earned the respect of his colleagues as a consultant gynecologic oncologist and gynecologic surgeon. In 2007 Dr. Holloway was named “Surgeon of the Year” by the Orange County Medical Society and each year since 2005 he has been voted “Best Doctor” in Orlando by his peers.

Dr. Holloway is recognized internationally for his robotic surgery skills. He routinely travels as a course director and speaker at robotic symposia including university programs in South America, Europe, and Japan.  American and International surgeons frequently attend advanced training courses at Florida Hospital under his direction, and post-graduate Fellows in the 3-year gynecologic oncology training program at Florida Hospital graduate with expert surgical skills in the management of gynecologic cancer and complex benign pathology.

As a recognized expert in gynecologic oncology, Dr. Holloway is a featured presenter at GOG, ASCO, and SGO national conferences. In pursuit of medical excellence, Dr. Holloway is the principal investigator for several clinical trials and research projects. In collaboration with Florida Hospital PhD scientists, he actively participates in the basic research of novel therapies for ovarian cancer that may soon progress to phase I clinical trials for patients with recurrent disease. Dr. Holloway publishes scientific articles regularly and is an associate editor for the Journal of Robotic Surgery
